The conference will begin on the evening of September 24 at 6:00 p.m., with an Icebreaker at the Seattle Aquarium. (www.SeattleAquarium.org)
The conference will include 3 ½ days of papers and workshops. We will include a full day at Woodland Park Zoo, graciously hosted by the Zoo. The staff at Woodland Park Zoo is very excited about co-hosting the conference, and looking forward to meeting everyone. Zoo Day will include many ‘behind the scenes’ tours, such as our “Zoo Doo” composting facility, our renowned horticultural facilities, and our exhibit design workshops.
We are pleased to announce our Keynote Speaker, Gordon McGregor Reid , President of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA). Professor Reid, who also serves as Director General of Chester Zoo (The North of England Zoological Society) will be speaking in the morning of Friday September 25.
We are also planning a Silent Auction, so start thinking about items you might be able to bring as donations.
The official conference festivities will end with a banquet on the evening of the September 29. We are still looking at possible venues for the banquet, but it will be an easy walk from the Red Lion hotel.
